🎧 3 stories ⭐ Unmissable

A paradise islet off Trou d’Eau Douce, Île aux Cerfs is the most visited site in Mauritius. Its turquoise waters, white sand beaches and sheltered lagoon make it an unmissable destination on the East coast.

Did you know?

The island owes its name to the Javan deer, introduced in large numbers by Dutch settlers in the 17th century for hunting — up to 75,000 by some estimates. The famous Mauritian “venison curry” (kari cerf) traces its origins directly to this practice. Today, no deer remain on the island: only the name has survived the centuries.
