Nestled at 300 metres above sea level in a unique microclimate, this artisan distillery turns its own sugar cane into rum, from the cutting to the bottling.

Did you know?

The Couacaud family bought this 220-hectare estate in 1996, at the time devoted exclusively to sugar production — international agreements of the day banned distilling rum from pure cane juice. It was only after those agreements ended, in 2008, that the family built the distillery and finally launched into agricultural rum. Each cane is cut by hand at dawn and reaches the mill within four hours.
