Moris Guide is a showcase website and tourist guide. The site does not offer user accounts or a newsletter, and no database of identified visitors is created. Only the listing request form, intended for businesses, collects personal data, as described below. Some browsing data is also processed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The \u201cAround me\u201d feature uses, with your explicit permission given through your browser, your geographic location to suggest the places, activities or restaurants closest to you. This location data:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like most websites, our host may keep technical connection logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamp) for security purposes and to ensure the site runs properly. This data is not used for commercial purposes and is kept for a limited period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With your consent, given via the banner shown on your first visit, the site uses Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC, to measure its audience on a statistical basis: pages viewed, visit duration, device type, approximate country or city. Detailed data is kept for 14 months; beyond that, only aggregate statistics remain available. This data may be processed outside Mauritius, including in the United States, under the contractual safeguards provided by Google.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The site counts the number of views of each listing and the number of clicks on contact buttons, including WhatsApp. These counters are anonymous totals: they record neither your IP address nor any identifier. To avoid counting the same click twice, a hashed, non-reversible fingerprint of the IP address is kept for a maximum of 10 seconds, then automatically deleted. Your browser also keeps a temporary record of listings already counted, which is cleared when the tab is closed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Place listings display an embedded Google Maps map. When the page is displayed, your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address among other data and may set their own cookies, in accordance with Google's privacy policy (policies.google.com\/privacy). If you do not want this connection to take place, you can block third-party content in your browser settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The site's general map (the \u201cMap\u201d page) uses OpenStreetMap. Displaying the map tiles sends your IP address to the OpenStreetMap Foundation's servers (tile.openstreetmap.org), without setting any cookie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When you place the pin on the map of the listing request form, your browser queries the OpenStreetMap service (Nominatim) to suggest the name of the place automatically; only the pin's coordinates are sent to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The WhatsApp buttons open the WhatsApp application (Meta) with a pre-filled message. No data is sent to WhatsApp before you click. The conversation that follows takes place directly between you and the service provider, outside the site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Businesses wishing to be listed in the guide fill in an online form. We receive the business details (name, public contact details, description, prices, opening hours, location on the map), up to 4 photos, and the name, email and phone number of the person in charge. The business details and photos are used to prepare its listing, published after review and with its agreement. The contact details of the person in charge are never published: they are used only to process the request. GPS location data contained in the photos is removed before they are stored. A request is kept for as long as it takes to process it, and for no more than 6 months; a request that is not accepted is deleted together with its photos. Legal basis: the business's request and its agreement, given by ticking the boxes in the form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Audience measurement via Google Analytics relies on your consent. The host's technical logs, the anonymous internal statistics and the display of maps rely on our legitimate interest in ensuring the site's security, improving its content and providing the features you request.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
